Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Michael Vick Gets a New Pet . . . Parrot?

Under the terms of Michael Vick's three-year probation following a conviction on dogfighting charges, the Philadelphia Eagles' star player isn't allowed to own another dog. But a six-inch, South American Caique parrot is another story.

About a month ago, Vick's fiancée purchased the six-month-old parrot at Todd Marcus Exotic Birds Inc. in New Jersey to help her kids cope when Vick is on the road.

The store's owner had no reservations about placing the $1,100 bird, named Rio, in Vick's care. "He is under a microscope," said Todd Marcus. "If he did something to harm the bird, it would be insanity."

So what do you think? Should Vick be allowed to own another pet?
