Bear Cub Visits Rite-Aid

Shoppers at an Oregon Rite-Aid were surprised to see a black bear cub roaming the aisles Sunday. Before heading to Rite-Aid, the baby bear had been spotted inside a nearby Super 8 Motel. Police officers trapped the 13-pound cub in a shopping basket, and officials from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife took custody of her. There were no signs of the cub’s mother in the area. The bear was brought to PAWS in Lynnwood, Washington, where she’ll be treated with the goal of releasing her to the wild in Oregon in the spring.
