A pack of determined Southern California canines will attempt to set a world record on Saturday at the seventh annual Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition in San Diego.
The goal: try to get as many dogs as possible riding the waves on a single surfboard.
Members of the So Cal Surf Dogs — ranging from a Bernese Mountain Dog to small Terrier mixes — successfully rode the waves in a practice run last week (shown above), packing 12 pups on board.
Legendary surfer Scott Chandler is spearheading the event, which helps to raise money for dog charities.
Among the pups planning to hang 10: Cleo, a Terrier-Miniature Poodle mix, who belongs to Vetstreet's own Arden Moore.
If you happen to be in San Diego on the 16th you should stop by!
