Dr. Ian Spiegel attended The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene, where he graduated with a Master in Health Science (Public Health). After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Spiegel completed a one-year Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Cornell University. He then completed a Residency in Dermatology at the University of California, School of Veterinary Medicine in Davis, California. After his residency, Dr. Spiegel became a board-certified member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).

Currently, Dr. Spiegel serves as the dermatologist (Chief of Dermatology and Allergy) at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (VSEC) in Levittown, PA; at Animerge 24/7 Animal Emergency and Specialty Care, in Raritan, NJ; at Garden State Veterinary Specialists (GSVS) in Tinton Falls, NJ; and at the Jersey Shore Veterinary Emergency Service (JSVES) in Lakewood, NJ. Dr. Spiegel and his staff, including two additional veterinarians, currently receive, diagnose and treat an average of 300 cases per month among the four locations.

He is a member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD), American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology (AAVD), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA) and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA).

Dr. Spiegel is the author or coauthor of numerous published scientific papers and book chapters on several topics. He has lectured for several veterinary medical groups and/or meetings locally, nationally and internationally. His veterinary-related interests include otology, pyoderma, managing allergies, autoimmune skin disease, parasitology, and dermatology-related pharmacology (topical and oral therapies).

He currently resides with his family in New Jersey.
