Ducklings Make a Man Their Mom

This isn’t your typical mama duck. But we’re convinced the 13 ducklings who call this man Mom will make sure he has an adorable Mother’s Day.

Their real mom was apparently killed before they hatched. A man named Rick found her eggs and kept them in an incubator in an effort to save them.

When they did peck their way out of their shells, Rick was the first moving object they saw, so they imprinted on him. Imprinting is a form of attachment that ducks and some other birds use to identify their mother.

Now he has 13 waddling baby birds who follow every move he makes.

Rick plans to keep the ducklings at his home for a while longer and then will bring them to a nearby pond to live, Yahoo News reports.
