Two male cheetahs from the Houston Zoo got to go on a field trip to stretch their legs recently.
Their keepers took them to a local racetrack when there were no horses around. There, they had a 600-foot straightaway to try to reach their top running speeds — much more open space than they have at the zoo.
Kito and Kiburi, along with their companion dog, got to have an off-leash race, where they chased a lure down the track.
