Kitten Rescued From Landfill

A landfill worker in Bristol, Ind., was about to bulldoze a pile of trash when a tiny kitten leaped out of a box and started running, reports ABC 57 News.

What could have been a tragic accident at the landfill, turned into a new chance at life for the malnourished 8-week-old kitten dubbed Hefty. Workers scooped little Hefty up and sent him to the Elkhart County Humane Society. Once he recovers from an upper respiratory infection he’ll be available for adoption.

“He is very sweet,” Rachel Dennis, Assistant Director of the Elkhart Humane Society, told ABC 57. “I think he’s going to be a big cuddle bug.”
