Is skier Lindsey Vonn’s rescue pup ready to hit the slopes himself?
Well, not quite. But Vonn, who had to withdraw from the U.S. Olympic ski team due to a knee injury, shared a photo on Instagram Monday of herself holding a Vail ski pass for her dog, Leo. “Look what I got for my puppy!!! Thanks @vailmtn #skipassforleo #winterpup #vailrules”
The Alpine skier, who is acting as an Olympic analyst for NBC as she recovers, filmed a segment for the Today show this week at Ski & Snowboard Club Vail. Vonn, 29, spoke with up-and-coming skiers at the same club she was part of as a kid.
Last month, just after she announced that she wouldn’t be competing in the Sochi Games because she needed knee surgery, the Gold medalist adopted Leo from a Florida shelter. She spends time both in her hometown of Vail and in Florida with her boyfriend, golfer Tiger Woods.
Leo, a 9-month-old brindle Boxer mix, has been giving Vonn the comfort she needs — and the pair have a lot in common. Leo suffered his own knee injury after being hit by a car.
Vonn set up an Instagram account for @leovonn, where he shared sweet pics like this one with the caption, “Do you haaaave to go to physical therapy today mom? Can't you just stay home with me? #separationanxiety”
