Museum to Host Internet Cat Video Film Festival

Kitties are finally getting their well-deserved cinematic due this summer at the Internet Cat Video Film Festival at the Walker Art Museum in Minneapolis, Minn. Finally, you'll get a chance to view that video of a cat being vacuumed on the big screen while listening to the whir of the Hoover in surround sound. The event (of the century) will take place the evening August 30, 2012 and promises to “release your cat-video-induced giggles and emotions that are otherwise muffled by computer screens and constrained by cubicles,” writes the Walker's "cat-lady-in-residence" on the museum’s blog.

If you spend as many hours a day as we do watching viral cat videos, you can still nominate your favorite feline clip by July 20. We are partial to Henri the cat and this kitty trying to wake up her feline friend, but don’t let our expert knowledge of viral feline videos sway you — pick your favorites and send them in.
