Rescue Puppy Born Without Back Paws Gets Booties to Help Him Walk

Justin, who was born without back paws, is now getting around a little easier with the adorable booties he got from the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. The puppy arrived at Best Friends in early March after a Good Samaritan rescued him and his littermates from under a house in Arizona. The staff expected Justin to be a lifelong resident of the sanctuary, but he was adopted less than a month later by Giovanna Piazza, who lives in California. His new owner brings him to a veterinary rehab specialist weekly, where he’s working to strengthen his core, elongate his spine and become more mobile. Piazza hopes the puppy, who’s been renamed Jax, will become a therapy dog who can work at a local children’s hospital. — Read it at ABC News
