Our favorite animal characters from the Muppets will be joining forces with Lady Gaga for a holiday special we can all be thankful for on Thursday night.
This isn’t the first time the ensemble has paired up with Lady Gaga, who’s promoting her new album, “Artpop.” (The Muppets are promoting a new project of their own. Their next movie, Muppets Most Wanted, premieres in March.)
The Muppets also appeared in a special with Lady Gaga in 2009, which apparently left a certain pig feeling a little jealous.
"Can't wait to see the gang again, and I hope Miss Piggy's still not mad about Kermit," Lady Gaga said. "We're just friends!"
For his part, the famous frog is looking forward to the 90-minute show, Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular.
"What an incredible opportunity!” Kermit said in a statement. “We have a long history with Ms. Gaga, so we jumped at the chance to do a holiday special with her. We won't even mind if she mistakes some of the Muppets for pieces of her wardrobe — again," he said, referring to the singer’s outfit from 2009 that featured Kermit look-alikes.
Kermit will join Lady Gaga in a duet of her new hit “Applause” during the variety show, and the Muppets will also perform with stars including Elton John, Kristen Bell and RuPaul.
After a huge Thanksgiving meal, we know we’ll be ready to curl up and watch the big show!
Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular airs on Thurs., Nov. 28 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
