It looks like Volkswagen is vying to once again air the year’s most popular Super Bowl commercial. The company released a musical teaser video on Wednesday dubbed "The Bark Side," which features a chorus of canines belting out the "Imperial March" song from Star Wars. The full video will air during Super Bowl XLVI.
“The Bark Side” harkens back to "The Force," which the automaker released last year just days before Super Bowl XLV. In that spot, a young boy attempts to unleash The Force on baby dolls and the family dog, but he has little success until his father comes home in a Passat. The video was voted the number one ad of the year by Adweek, and it has since racked up more than 48 million views on YouTube.
We can't wait to see the 2012 game day commercial — for now, this teaser will leave you howling.
