Avery Creek Pet Hospital Staff Profiles
Mark Wysocki, DVMI grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. My family had Boxers, Saint Bernards and an English Bulldog as well as a rabbit, parrot, and several parakeets. My grandfather started the first pet ambulance service in the country with the Michigan Humane Society in the 1950's, so my love of animals must be genetic. I always did well in math and science, so Veterinary medicine seemed like the perfect combination for me as a career. I graduated from Michigan State University in 1983 and, following vet school, completed a small animal internship in Springfield, MA. I practiced on Cape Cod for ten years. That is where I met my wife, Diane. We moved to Baltimore, MD, where I practiced emergency medicine for several years. From there, we moved to Greenville, SC, where we lived for 5 years before finally settling in Arden and starting my own practice. When not at work, I enjoy exercising at the YMCA and have recently started rowing with the Asheville Rowing Club. I have three children (Kyle and the twins, Joy and Emily) as well as three cats. Casey Fletcher, DVMDr. Casey Fletcher is originally from upstate New York and moved to Asheville in 1999. As a child she not only enjoyed looking after her own pets, but also her friends and neighbors. She graduated from the University Of Wisconsin School Of Veterinary Medicine and began practicing as a small animal vet in 1996. Dr. Fletcher enjoys building relationships with clients so she can better serve them and their pets. She was drawn to ACPH because the staff is genuinely interested in veterinary medicine and the clients they serve.
Dr. Fletcher and her husband have three children, two dogs, one cat and a hedgehog. In her spare time she actively fosters for the Asheville Humane Society and has been known to rehab a possum or two. She is also an active organic fruit gardener and enjoys singing. Show More
Casey Kersten, DVMI grew up in Clarkston, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. I worked in private practice in Michigan and at a shelter in San Diego before moving to my forever home in Asheville.
I come from a family of dentists (the human variety), which sparked my interest in veterinary dentistry. I spent months working first-hand with several of the top veterinary dentists in the world. I encouraged Michigan State's veterinary school to add a dentistry laboratory for third year students, which I was asked to come back and help teach after graduation. In addition to dentistry, I also have a passion for soft-tissue surgery. I am excited to better the lives of the pets of Western North Carolina by performing surgical and dental procedures at Avery Creek Pet Hospital.
My husband, Andy, and I have two awesome boys, Bennett and Brooks. We also have a scruffy little mutt named Fritz that we rescued from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. I enjoy reading, playing pickle ball at the YMCA, weaving, crocheting, and any and every activity I can do with my family. Show More
