Carter Veterinary Medical Center Staff Profiles

Dr. David R. Carter

Owner/ DVM
My Philosophy: “Your pets deserve the same comprehensive, dependable medical care as anyone else in your family. My goal has always been to provide exactly that, and to do this with a real sense of concern and caring. In the 21-plus years since founding this medical center, I still follow that same goal. I want you to be completely satisfied with the medical attention your dog or cat receives, but it’s really about helping your pet live a happy, healthy and active life.”

BS: Microbiology, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
DVM: Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, West Lafayette, IN

Member: American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association

My Goals: “I strive to stay current with the advances in my profession in order to offer the most complete, most modern medical services available. As a result, Carter Veterinary Medical Center now has several unique pieces of equipment and advanced services that allow us to completely understand your pet’s condition and then administer the most appropriate treatment. Our goal is to evolve with veterinary medicine to continue to offer your pet’s quality care.

Dr. Ross C. Clayton

DVM
My Philosophy: “I suppose my interest in veterinary medicine was kind of birthright. My father is a doctor, my mother is a nurse, and I grew up on a working horse farm. In fact, I was interested in a career as a physician until I visited a veterinary school…and it just clicked. I fell in love with the idea of being a pet physician, and I still feel the same way. I know that animals enrich our lives, and I feel fortunate that I’m able to make a positive difference in these kinds of lives every day.”

BA : Chemistry, DePauw University, Greencastle, IN
DVM: Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, West Lafayette, IN

Member: American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association

My Goals: “Every pet is different, just like every owner is different. Good medicine can’t look at your animal simply as a category. I know that your pets are individuals, same as you or me, so I concentrate on the particulars of their cases, tailoring my medical approach to their unique needs. I’m after excellent results, not just fair ones, and the way to achieve them is by providing close, customized care.”

Dr. Dana M. Graham

DVM
My Philosophy: “My three-year-old asked me the other night why people want to become doctors, and I answered him quickly … I grew up knowing that I have a special connection to animals, and I love to help people. I knew from an early age that I wanted to be an ‘animal doctor’ and that has never changed. Pets play a special role in our lives, and their love and affection parallel to none. It is my commitment to you to keep your pet healthy and able to provide this love to you and your family for as long as it’s able, and to keep your bond cohesive.”

Member: American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, past president of CIVMA (local veterinary association)

My Goals: “It is important to listen to you, the pet owner. We glean so much information from what you tell us, more so than your pet itself! I look forward to meeting and speaking to you about any pressing issues or concerns that you have for your four- legged family members!”
