Coit North Veterinary Hospital Staff Profiles
Jess Lovell, DVMOwner
Dr. Jess W. Lovell is the proud owner of the Coit North Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Lovell is a graduate of the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine and has received additional orthopedic training at Texas A&M University and Iowa State University.
Prior to joining the Coit North Veterinary Hospital medical team, he provided medical guidance, leadership and surgical support for a large group of veterinary hospitals in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Dr. Lovell's clinical interests include dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine and orthopedics.
Jess has served as the professional liaison for the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University and Oklahoma State University, and has been a frequent lecturer on leadership skills and veterinary practice at the University of Tennessee and various other professional organizations.
He holds professional memberships in the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
An active member of the community, Dr. Lovell recently served on the McClendon-Chisholm City Council. He is also an active member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
Prior to his academic endeavors, he served his country as an Infantry Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
Dr. Lovell lives on a farm in Rockwall County that has been the family homestead since the mid 1800’s. He and his wife, Lara, have three young children (Avery, Wade and James) two Labrador Retrievers (Gus and Woodrow), a llama named Spiderman and a donkey named Jenny.
In his spare time, Dr. Lovell enjoys cheering for his kids sports teams, camping, cooking, fishing and being outdoors with his family.
Teresa has worked in the veterinary industry for thirty six years. Her positions throughout that time have included kennel technician, general practice technician, specialty service technician, emergency technician, receptionist, and office manager. She enjoys working with people along with helping them with their furry friends. During her time away from work, she loves spending time outdoors at the lake, walking and riding her bike on the trails with her grandson, and just hanging out with her husband, kids, and grandchildren. Teresa has one long hair Chihuahua named Louis that rules her home.
TaylorLead Veterinary Technician
Taylor graduated as a Texas Scholar from Sachse High School in 2007. She has been part of the veterinary field for nine years and has worked alongside Dr. Lovell for a majority of that time. She is currently pursuing a major in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University – Commerce. Taylor enjoys horseback riding, volleyball, being outdoors, fishing, and of course loves spending time with her family. Her four-legged family includes two horses, Shiner and General, and four dogs, Rosco, Peanut, Ace, and Tuff. Show More
