Phillip Lanzi, DVM

Veterinarian/Practice Owner
Dr. Phillip Lanzi attended the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1981. He received his veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 1987. He is a member of AAHA as well as the well managed practice group, a unique collaboration of high quality small animal practice owners focused and dedicated to practicing gold standard medicine in a successfully managed practice. His special interests include laser surgery, radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroid cats, and small animal ear disease. His hobbies include all water sports, snow skiing, tennis, and spending time with his wife, Jamie and their two kids, Caitlin and Trevor. They share their home with a Golden Retriever, Chance, a Jack Russell Terrier, Spencer, a WestiePoo, Nilla, 3 cats, Lulu, Frankie, and Gizzie and a Gerbil, Ollie.

Gina Scarzella, DVM

Dr. Gina Scarzella graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA in 2005. She then took the opportunity to live on Grand Cayman island and graduated from St. Matthew's University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys anything that has to do with the outdoors, concerts and playing with her dog Penny.
Gina grew up in Wilmington, NC and is excited to be back working with the team at College Road!

Stephanie Rutherford, DVM

Dr. Stephanie Rutherford graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, where she developed a passion for good food and college football!  Following graduation, she completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Albuquerque, NM.  After spending two years in the desert, Dr. Rutherford decided to relocate to North Carolina.  Her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, ultrasound, and chronic pain management.  When she's not working, she enjoys cooking, fishing, tennis, and hiking with her three dogs: Henry, Milton, and Gertrude.
