Coronado Veterinary Hospital Staff Profiles
Shawna Sawtelle, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Sawtelle received her D.V.M in 2009. After graduation, she headed east to Pennsylvania to work at a mixed animal practice for 2 years. Dr. Sawtelle decided to head back to the West to be closer to family and enjoy the milder weather. Her favorite activity is riding her horse Pearl and recently began competing in Barrel Racing with her.
Lorakate Snyder, DVMVeterinarian
I am excited to be a part of the Coronado Veterinary Hospital team! Cochise county is where I grew up. Providing the mild weather I prefer for horseback riding, hiking, and lounging with friends; it feels like home.
I take a partnership approach to medicine and enjoy teaching my clients and staff. Working in clinics in Bisbee, Wilcox and the White Mountains, has provided a variety of experience and opportunities for my professional growth, that I look forward to building on through my career.
Cherie Cortez, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Cortez received her DVM from Ohio State University after working as a veterinary assistant for many years. Her goal as a veterinarian isn’t just to treat an animal or a condition; it’s to create a close, trusting partnership with your entire family so that you all take part in maintaining the health and happiness of your pet. She is grateful that she has the ability to use the current advancements in veterinary medicine to extend and improve the lives of your pets.
Dr. Cortez’s family consists of her and her husband as well as our four cats and three dogs, almost all of whom started out as fosters who just never left her home! She spends much of her free time reading and playing with the dogs. The cats make time for her when they feel like it…
Dr. Cortez is offering appointments into the evening hours on Tuesdays and Thursday to best fit into your busy schedules!
