Dena Hartley-Lock, D.V.M.

Associate DVM

Dr. Lock was born in Minnesota, and while growing up, lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, Texas and Tennessee.  She received her degree from the University of Tennessee in 2002.  This is where her love of college football and most importantly, the Tennessee Volunteers began.

Another love became apparent at the University of Tennessee. Feline Medicine.  After graduation, she worked for 2 years with a nationally recognized feline practitioner in San Antonio, Texas, prior to joining Cross Timbers AMC in 2005.  She truly enjoys that this has allowed the diversity of getting to work with dogs, in addition to being able to continue her passionate care for cats.  She is working toward becoming ABVP (American Board of Veterinary Practitioners) certified in feline medicine in the future.  She is a USDA accredited  veterinarian and has experience in and enjoys the challenges of helping clients who are traveling or moving overseas with their pets.

Travel is another love of Dr.Lock's.  Her husband, Bevin is from the beautiful country of New Zealand and they try to get home to visit their family as often as possible.  Dr. Lock is blessed that they have her immediate family here locally.  She and her husband, along with their dog Peyton (yes, after Peyton Manning) and their many beloved felines enjoy living in the Highland Village community. She enjoys working with patients, clients and the staff, all of whom she considers her extended family at Cross Timbers AMC.
