Dublin Animal Hospital Staff Profiles

Lena M. Roeder, DVM

Dr. Lena Roeder is the owner and senior veterinarian at Dublin Animal Hospital. She graduated with honors from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Avian Veterinarians. Dr. Roeder takes pleasure in working with all species of companion animals. She is skilled and experienced in dog, cat, avian, small mammal and reptilian medicine. Under her guidance, Dublin Animal Hospital has become the leading avian hospital in Southern Colorado.

Dr. Roeder's entire life has been devoted to animal care. She grew up on a small family ranch in the Gunnison valley of Colorado. In that setting she developed a strong compassion for all animals and became devoted to improving their care and well-being.

Dr. Roeder is an avid runner, and while she has retired from the local road racing circuit, she can often be found running the trails in and around Colorado Springs with her faithful canine companions. She enjoys playing the piano and the flute, and is a member of the Pikes Peak Flute Choir. She also enjoys backpacking, cycling, gardening, skiing, and reading a good novel.

Dr. Roeder's daughter Shayla recently graduated from the University of Colorado and is learning to navigate in a world where Mom and Dad don't pay the bills. Son Tsaaron is attending the University of Northern Colorado and dabbling in the local music scene on electric and acoustic guitar.

With the kids out of the house, it is now dominated by a plethora of non-human family members. Penelope, Racer, Owen, and Kharma are four dogs who the Roeders feel privileged to share their lives with. Penelope is a very senior lab mix who is living in a rapidly degenerating body with incredible grace.

Heather A. Rollence, DVM

Dr. Heather Rollence was born in Denver and raised in Evergreen. She attended the University of California at Davis for Veterinary school, graduating in 1998.

Dr. Rollence first practiced in a rural practice in California's Mohave Desert, where she was kept very busy for 4 years. This is also where she met her husband, John, to whom she has been married since 2000.

Dr. Rollence's family moved back to Colorado in 2002 to be closer to her parents. Their family now includes sons Joshua, Benji, and Sammy, 10 year old lab mix named Benny, and cats Ollie and Susie.

Dr. Rollence really enjoys working at Dublin because of the great staff, progressive medicine, our dedicated client family, and the wonderful variety of pets that she has the opportunity to treat. She is a talented doctor and an important asset to our team! In her 'free' time she likes to read , cook, (food that is always labeled "gross!" by at least two of her three children), and do endless piles of laundry. She also likes to run, walk with her dog, hike, and play with her kids.
