Dr. Dick Carstensen

Dr. Carstensen grew up in Jerusalem Township, and went to Clay High School. A 1982 graduate of Ohio State's College of Veterinary Medicine, he joined East Suburban with Dr. Stevelt in 1984 after two years in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. He has accumulated 31 years of veterinary practice.

Besides pet animal care, Dr. Carstensen provides veterinary care for equine and livestock in the entire northwest Ohio area. When not working, he enjoys hunting, kayaking, and other outdoor activities, and is an avid reader.

Dr. Gary Holfinger

Dr. Holfinger grew up on a beef farm near Troy, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in June, 1973, and has accumulated forty years of professional practice.

Dr. Holfinger is married to Dr. Jeanne Eisenhour of South Suburban Animal Hospital. They have three children, ten grandchildren, and a three-legged cat named Piper.

Dr. Linda Stevelt-Carstensen

Originally from Marysville, Ohio, Dr. Stevelt graduated from the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in June, 1984. She joined East Suburban that month, and has been in practice 29 years.

Her family consists of husband Dr. Dick Carstensen, son Joe and daughter Libby, who is a junior at the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine. The household also includes the following pets: Kyrie, Freya, Jake, Ivanhoe, Fitzgerald, Nikitty, and Kizzie.

Dr. Stevelt's interests in veterinary medicine include both surgery and internal medicine. She also enjoys biking, music and art. Our wall of pencil sketches in the clinic are the pets of staff members as drawn by Dr. Stevelt.
