Fountain Valley Animal Hospital Staff Profiles
Devin Fitzgerald, DVMOwner / Veterinarian
Dr. Devin grew up in Dallas, Texas, and from an early age he was interested in veterinary medicine. He has worked through every position in an animal hospital, from kennels to technician to vet. He even worked at reception for a day … never again. Dr. Devin attended Colorado State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. After completing his first three years of training, he finished his degree back at CSU. While Dr. Devin was working on his veterinary degree at Ross, he met his future wife, Dr. Rachael. They recently moved from the Chicago area to sunny Colorado to pursue their dream of running a clinic together. They have 2 dogs, Turk and Phoenix, and 2 cats, Rusty and Pe'kai. In his spare time, Dr. Devin enjoys hiking, fishing, and brewing his own beer. Orthopedic surgery and ophthalmology are Dr. Devin's special interests.
Rachael Fitzgerald, DVMOwner / Veterinarian
Dr. Rachael is originally from Minnesota -- the Great White North -- where she spent summers fishing and winters indoors! She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin, and graduated from Ross University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She met her husband, the "other Dr. Fitzgerald", in vet school at Ross, which is located on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. They practiced in the Chicago area for 3 years but then decided that a move to the West was in order. They realized their dream of owning and running a clinic together in the fall of 2011 when they purchased Fountain Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Rachael and her husband, Dr. Devin, have enjoyed their time in Colorado so far, and are excited to pursue all of the outdoor activities the area has to offer. In her free time, Dr. Rachael enjoys baking, reading, and hiking with their two dogs, Turk and Phoenix. Fun fact: Even though the Vikings have never won a Super Bowl, Dr. Rachael still bleeds Purple and Gold. She is interested in internal medicine, particularly cardiology.
Kimberlee Blair-SluderOffice Manager
Kim and her husband, Chris, are natives of the Fountain Valley area. She has worked at Fountain Valley Animal Hospital for 14 years -- starting back when it was a satellite clinic of Cheyenne Mountain Animal Hospital. She is a Widefield graduate with a degree in applied science, and has taken many continuing education courses in clinic management. Kim runs the front desk, trains new employees, and basically keeps the whole clinic running smoothly. Kim and Chris have two children and a farm with chicken, horses, and three dogs: Abby, a Rottweiler, Shasta, a German Shepherd, and a pug named Priscilla ("Miss America"). Kim has a deep love for animals and has fostered many over the years -- including a 1-day-old kitten dropped off at the clinic. Thanks to Kim, Ernie has thrived and turned into the well-adjusted cat he is today. In her spare time, Kim enjoys gardening, cooking, fishing, and hunting. Fun fact: Kim is certified in defensive tactics and sharpshooting -- watch out!
