Gansett Animal Hospital, opened in 1965, is a full service Veterinary facility, caring for animals of South Eastern Massachusetts and the Greater Providence, Rhode Island Area. We are staffed with four highly experienced Veterinarians and many compassionate, skilled Veterinary Assistants. In addition to providing services to the public, we partner with local shelters to promote adoption and affordable spay/neuter programs. We are able to provide both routine and specialty services. Dr. Peter Cournoyer (Owner)Dr. Cournoyer graduated from Boston College in 1984 and Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He acquired the practice in 2001 and especially enjoys primary care and surgery. He is married with three children and enjoys the family pets; two dogs, two cats,three sheep and two chickens!.

Dr. Lori SchneiderDr. Schneider graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. An Iowa native, she has enjoyed living in Rhode Island since 2008. She takes pleasure in all aspects of small animal practice, especially getting to know her clients and their pets. Dr. Schneider shares her home with her husband, two young sons, three dogs and two cats.

Dr. Amy Munson
Dr. Munson graduated in 2008 from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island, Canada and has been practicing in RI ever since. She and her husband Chris share their home with 3 "special needs" animals: a three-legged Chihuahua, a one-eyed cat and an asthmatic cat. She also has two large fuzzy dogs and one other "rescue" cat. She recently added two humans to her extensive family as well.
