Patricia L. Kitchen, V.M.D.

Veterinarian / Practice Owner

     Dr. Kitchen is a native of Milton, PA, where she grew up on a small dairy farm.  She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Lycoming College.  She also has a Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine from Pennsylvania State University.  Dr. Kitchen received her Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986.  

     Dr. Kitchen started her veterinary career under the mentorship of George Leighow, V.M.D.  Initially she was a mixed animal veterinarian working with cows, horses, pigs, sheep, alpacas, dogs and cats.  Through the years she has had many opportunities to work with a variety of animals, including elephants, lions, tigers, zebras, camels, and snakes. 

     In 2008, Dr. Kitchen retired from large animal practice so as to concentrate on small animal medicine and surgery.  She enjoys working with dogs and cats and their caretakers.

     Dr. Kitchen resides in rural Danville on the family dairy farm with her husband, Randy, and their three children, Sara, Mark and Daniel.

Sallie R. Smith, D.V.M.



     Dr. Smith is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Bioscience.  She is also a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine since 1989.

     Dr. Smith's special interest is pocket pets, including chinchillas and guinea pigs.  She lives in the country with her menagerie of dogs, cats, livestock and exotics.

     She is a foster parent with local collie and sheltie recue.  She is also active in dog rescue with other groups and shelters in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio.  She is always taking in or raising orphans.  Dr. Smith is an avid football junkie-Penn State and The Steelers.

Mason W. Butler, D.V.M.



     Dr. Butler was born and raised in Northern California.  He graduated from the University of  Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Biology.  His endeavor to become a veterinarian landed him on Grand Cayman, in the Caribbean, where he studied and earned his Veterinary Degree from St. Matthew's University.  After completing his training at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, he spent a year practicing in NYC.  The lifestyle change that came with a move to rural Pennsylvania has been very well received.

     Dr. Butler's focus is on small animal medicine with an interest in surgery.  He is motivated by a field that is rapidly evolving with the goal of constantly improving the standard of care. 

     Dr. Butler lives in Riverside with his wife, Lara, and their two dogs, Olive and Duke.
