Dr. Racelle LaMar

Dr. LaMar moved to Sonoma County in1967 after her father - a naval aviator - started working with Pan Am. Following in her grandfather's footsteps, she attended Texas A&M University as a mechanical engineering major. Her senior year, she applied to and was accepted into, Veterinary School. Moving back to Santa Rosa after working in Oklahoma City for 2 years, Dr. LaMar did an emergency & critical residency and worked for over a decade at the Animal Care Center. After the birth of her son, she began general practice and ultimately bought Northtown Animal Hospital. She is married to Jeff Penner, has one child and is active in scouting and is an avid hockey mom. Go Santa Rosa Flyers!

Marilyn has been working in the veterinary field since 1973. She has worked in emergency/critical care, reproduction, neonatal care, exotic medicine and general practice. Her hobbies include sewing, gardening and cycling.
