Pepperell Veterinary Hospital Staff Profiles

Dr. Bradbury Smith, DVM

Dr. Smith has been practicing Veterinary Medicine for 30 years. He studied at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1977.

Brad practiced emergency medicine early in his career and then continued in small animal medicine and surgery. "My first thoughts of becoming a veterinarian emerged when I was a young teenager trying to care for sick and injured wildlife. My love of the sciences and my desire to help animals led me down the path to Veterinary School."

Over the past twenty years in Groton, MA Brad and his wife Sally have shared their home with a variety of pets including dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks, sheep, cows, a parrot, a toad and two lizards.

When Dr. Smith is not caring for animals at the hospital or at home, he enjoys playing the fiddle in a local band the Contra Banditos. He is a member of the William's Barn Committee and the local Grange in Groton. Dr. Smith enjoys the out of doors, camping, hiking, running, and sailing.

Dr. Scott Osgood, DVM

Dr. Osgood has been a practicing Veterinarian for 12 years. He attended Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH, Class of 1991, continued to Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1995 and finished his internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital, Boston, MA 1995-96.

Dr. Osgood always loved caring for and owning animals of his own. Currently he has three cats, Biscuit, Momo and Mr. Zigfield.

When enjoying his time off Dr. Osgood enjoys collecting wine and considers himself to be a "Gadget Freak".

Dr. Lauren Flanagan, DVM

Although Dr. Flanagan enjoys the variety of medicine and surgical cases she sees as a general practitioner, cardiology and neurology are of special interest. A Graduate of the University of Vermont, with Bachelor of Science in 1988 and Veterinary Degree from Tufts University of Veterinary Medicine, 1992.

Dr. Flanagan has now been at PVH for 11 years. She can't image working anywhere else. " The staff is great, hard working, conscientious and very personable. The clients and their pets are wonderful."

When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband John and their three children, Ian, Matthew and Alexandra. They share their home with a menagerie of pets including Dumpy & Erving, her senior felines, Wrecks, a German shepherd mix, Jack the French bulldog and Desiree, a Thoroughbred mare.

Dr. Flanagan finds a little time for skiing, horseback riding and a good book at the beach.

She considers herself to be one of the lucky few, who truly loves their job.

"Becoming a veterinarian was a lifelong dream-I decided when I was four years old that's what I would be. I just loved animals!"
