Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic Staff Profiles
Dr. Karl Kapoor, DVMPractice Owner
Dr. Karl Kapoor has been at Pinecrest Veterinary Clinic since its first opening in 1985. He graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After many years of solo practice, Dr. Kapoor is thankful and blessed to now have three other excellent veterinarians at Pinecrest as well as a skilled, knowledgeable and enjoyable team of staff members. The Kapoor family consisting of Karl, his wife Anna, and their two children, Nathan and Sarah, have several pets at home in addition to the larger family of clinic patients. Drake, a longhaired dachshund manages the home and proves to be an adequate sentinel if licking is considered a weapon. Shiloh, one of the 'on the way to the shelter' rescues, is not quite as friendly as Drake and proudly knows he is the true guardian of the home. A new kitten, O-2, is still learning the ropes. Majorette, a Tennessee walking horse, does not live at home but is responsible for putting many miles on the family vehicle while traveling from the house to the barn. The Kapoor family also invests time and effort into the East Tennessee Juvenile Diabetes research Foundation, the ETSU Wesley Foundation, various functions of First United Methodist Church, the Interfaith Hospitality Network, and various other organizations. Dr. Kapoor has tremendously enjoyed participating with the Johnson City District Partners in Mission program in the Czech Republic. He has been able to travel on two mission teams there.
Anna Kapoor, RNAdministrator
Anna Kapoor, Dr. Kapoor's wife, works part time at Pinecrest. As a teenager, Anna remembers babysitting for a veterinarian's family in her hometown and occasionally stepping into action at that clinic. Little did she know that several years later she would marry a veterinarian, who also had to often times leave home for emergencies at all hours. Anna is a registered nurse certified in oncology nursing and took care of patients at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital for 20 years. After leaving JCMC, Anna worked part time at Macleod Cancer Center and continues to serve as a relief nurse. Because she is a strong patient advocate and continues to keep current in nursing, Anna often finds the opportunity to use her skill to serve on medical mission teams. Anna enjoys gardening, knitting and cooking in her spare time. She serves in many different volunteer roles at church, a local soup kitchen, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and others.
