Dr. Belinda Eckhoff

Dr. Belinda Eckhoff (affectionately known to her family, friends, and clients as Dr. BE) is a native of Moody, Alabama. She acquired her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM) in 2008. Prior to attending TUSVM, she received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science/Veterinary Technology from Snead State Community College and became a licensed veterinary technician in the state of Alabama in 2002. TUSVM hired her as a licensed veterinary technician the year of her graduation where she quickly became a big fan of the students, staff, and faculty at the school.

In 2004 Dr. Eckhoff enrolled in veterinary school at Tuskegee University and became a class favorite as she helped class mates navigate through a terrain that was new and daunting to many of them. Summer breaks found her doing internships at veterinary clinics located in Las Vegas, NV; Fort Walton, Florida, and Birmingham, Alabama. A most unique preceptioship was experienced the senior year at a mixed animal clinic in St. Augustine, Florida. After graduating from veterinary school, she began working at Union City Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2009 Dr. Eckhoff decided to move back home and joined the staff here at Red Mountain Animal Clinic. She soon became a member of our clinic family and a client favorite with her cheerful personality, intelligence and commitment to quality patient care. Dr. BE is an integral part of the mentoring program at Red Mountain Animal Clinic where she is a regular spokesperson to youth in the Birmingham community about careers in veterinary medicine, healthy life styles and life choices.

Dr. Eckhoff is an active member of the Jefferson County Veterinary Medical Association and holds licenses to practice veterinary medicine in both Alabama and Georgia. When is does not interfere with her time at Red Mountain she does relief work at the Ark Animal Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.

Dr. BE has 2 boxers, NoNa and Princess, which are the love of her life. Some of her interests include taking her dogs to the park, running, hiking, and kayaking. In 2010 and 2011 she ran in the Hand in Paw’s Dog Friendly 5k Run. She also loves traveling and spending time with family and friends.
