Christen Skaer, DVMVeterinarian
Dr. Chris Skaer is a 1999 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. She has extensive training in companion animal medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology. One of her special fields of interest is animal behavior.
Dr. Chris is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Wichita veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior. She also serves on the Kansas Board of Veterinary Examiners.
Dr. Chris was the 1999 Recipient of the "Pet Trust" Award from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. This award is given to a student each year for outstanding compassion toward pets and owners. Most recently Dr. Chris was awarded 2008 Kansas Veterinarian of the Year for her prompt response and tireless work after the Greensburg tornado in 2007 and for establishing the Kansas State and Sedgwick County Animal Response Teams to aid animals and their people caught up in widespread disastrous conditions regardless of the cause. Pat and her husband are owners of All Paws Pet Center, a pet supply store which has three locations in the Wichita area. Pat is responsible for the canine training program at All Paws Academy. Whenever she isn’t helping other people train their dogs, Pat enjoys competing in Obedience, Rally, and Agility with her two Shelties, Wyatt and Gabby. Both of her dogs have earned titles in Rally and Obedience, as well as Canine Good Citizenship and Therapy Dogs International certification. Outside of work and dog training, Pat enjoys yoga, gardening, reading and relaxing with her cat, Fiona.
