Ashley Kotinek, DVMVeterinarian
Ashley Kotinek, DVM was born in Austin, Texas where she grew up with 3 sisters and many animals. Although she lived in the city, she was always surrounded with many furry friends who helped to form her passion for veterinary medicine. She decided in high school that she wanted to go to veterinary school and thus Texas A&M was her first choice in universities. She was accepted to Texas A&M in October of 1994 and began classes there in September 1995. She met her future husband, Jonathan Kotinek, at Fish Camp at Texas A&M in August of 1995 and was later married on June 19, 1999. The Kotinek’s have two children along with several other four-legged children. Luckily her husband and children share her love for animals, so she is still surrounded with many pets.
Dr. Kotinek graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors on May 12, 2005 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to receiving her DVM from Texas A&M, she graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Science in May of 2000 and with a M.S. in Biotechnology in August of 2001 also from Texas A& M. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Brazos Valley Veterinary Medical Association and is also a member of the Texas A&M Association of Former Students.
Dr. Kotinek or Dr. K as many at the clinic have come to call her became an associate veterinarian at Spring Hill Animal Hospital in June of 2005 and has recently re-joined the hospital as of January 2012 after a brief hiatus. She enjoys working with all the staff at the hospital and has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of the clients and their pets. She enjoys running, Zumba work-outs, reading, and spending time with her family and many pets.
