Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital Staff Profiles

Dr. Kelly Harper

Founder
With nearly 20 years of private practice experience, a servant’s heart and the desire to live a purpose-driven life I could no longer deny the Lord’s call to serve. The building of Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital is the fulfillment of a long held dream to realize God’s plan for my life by sharing His love with every patient, person and family that I have the privilege to serve.

Dr. Harper earned a B.S. in Laboratory Animal Science from Delaware Valley College of Science & Agriculture in 1992 and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Professional obligations aside, Dr. Harper’s most important and rewarding job is being mom to her two daughters.

In her spare time, Dr. Harper most enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and cheering on her alma mater Virginia Tech. Go HOKIES!!!

I have 1 Labrador retriever who doubles as husband's hunting partner and family pet, 3 cats, a guinea pig and of course our hospital pets... Mushu and Georgia Belle, our "Southern Siamese" (we're working on getting her to meow with a drawl ...)

Cindy Connor

Hospice Coordinator
I grew up on Long Island and moved here in 2007. My passion has always been for loving and caring for animals. I grew up with our family dogs, cats and horses. My family had owned a therapeutic riding program for the physically and emotionally disabled. It was one of the most rewarding times of my life. The bond that forms between people and animals has always amazed me. It was that bond that had worked miracles in the lives of both the animals and the people that we had worked with. It has always touched me in a way that I can't ever put into words. I believe it was around that time that I had realized my dream of becoming a vet tech. I wanted to continue to work with animals and people and enjoy seeing these bonds daily.

In my spare time I enjoy spending it with my husband and 2 amazing children. I also still enjoy riding my three horses JD, Desperado and Buckshot . I also have a Pitbull named Bella, a Chihuahua named Trixie, and 6 cats named Milo, Jade, Saraphina, Tiger, Tabatha and Daisy!!

Annie Wells

Laser Therapy Coordinator
Born in Pennsylvania, my family soon moved to Germany. We spent about five years where my father served in the U.S. Army. Living over seas as a child is an amazing and broadening experience! When my father retired we moved to Durham, North Carolina where I stayed until I graduated high school. My senior year I was in Australia for a month, and climbed the Sydney harbor bridge, swam at the Great Barrier Reef, and hung out with pythons, crocs and kangaroos- craziest thing ever!! While in high school I was dancing full time for my school and dance company. After having several knee surgeries my path was changed and I could no longer dance. Instead I went to college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

While majoring in philosophy and religion I met my future husband! The end of my senior year my wonderful, beautiful pit bull came into my life and I have had her ever since. After graduating college, we moved to Charlotte where I first started on my veterinary path at a clinic there. A few years later my husband and I got married and had our wonderful son after moving back to the triangle area.

I love being a vet tech and I love helping animals as well as people. I have always had a special bond with animals. I just think, I would want someone to take amazing care of my dog if she needed something.
