WNC Veterinary Hospital Staff Profiles

Dr. Sara Farmer, DVM

I am originally from Boulder, Colorado and attended the University of Colorado for an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology. I received my DVM from Colorado State University in 2008 and following graduation moved to Knoxville, Tennessee for an additional one year internship at the University of Tennessee where I met my husband. I have spent the last 5 years practicing emergency medicine at a 24 hour referral hospital in Richmond, Virginia, and now I am very excited to be joining the team at WNC in June of 2015. I have a special interest in ultrasound, endocrinology, and geriatric medicine and hospice care.

In my spare time, I enjoy eating and cooking gourmet food, trying to keep up with my husband on mountain biking trails, and getting in over my head with home improvement projects. My four legged family includes a Brittany named Josephine, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ophelia, two orange kitties named Zufi and Marzi, and we have recently added a two legged member: our daughter Helen.
