We’ve all heard it before: "I don’t like cats." Which is usually followed by some story about a mean cat from the offender’s childhood or the concession that he or she is "just more of a dog person." (OK, as long as you like animals, we can be cool.)

To all the professed cat haters out there, this is how we react:

Initial shock.

Complete outrage.

Legitimate sadness.

Thinly veiled disgust.

If I pretend I didn’t hear them say that, does that mean they didn’t really say it?
