It's been a big week for record-breaking athletic performances: Rebecca Soni sped past her own world record in the 200-meter breaststroke, the U.S. men's basketball team eclipsed the single-game scoring record in less than three quarters — and now the fastest Cheetah on the planet has shattered her previous world record for the 100-meter dash.

She's not in the Olympics, but this gifted animal could rout any human competitor in a race. The 11-year-old cheetah, named Sarah, clocked a personal best of 5.95 seconds at a National Geographic photo shoot. Her 61 mph-sprint broke the world record she set in 2009, when she ran 100 meters in 6.13 seconds. (For comparison, Jamaican runner Usain Bolt holds the human record for the 100-meter dash — at 9.58 seconds.)
