After a 13-month pregnancy, 13-year-old Brooke gave birth to a foal on the Serengeti Plain at Busch Garden’s Tampa. Just an hour after it was born on Aug. 5, Brooke’s fifth baby was standing to nurse.
This is the first offspring for the foal’s dad, Two Step.
The Grevy’s zebra is the only species of zebra that are listed as endangered. Their population has declined by more than 50 percent in less than two decades.
