Ferrets, donkeys and a kinkajou, oh my! While we see plenty of celebrities with animal companions, there are some stars whose pets are a little more… unusual — but still lovable, we’re sure.

Check out our gallery to see which stars have animals who are a little off the beaten path.

Bai Ling

Celebrity pets don’t get much more exotic than actress Bai Ling’s feline, who’s half domestic cat — and half cheetah. “The thing is, Quiji (pronounced chee-jee) is really the most affectionate, even compared to human beings," she told People in 2009. She says her pet was a gift from an ex-boyfriend, who bought it from a breeder for $30,000.

Holly Madison

We bet you’d picture Madison, best known for her former role as one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends on The Girls Next Door, with a tiny pup in a carrier. Well, she is a dog owner, but she adores her two ferrets. "My ferrets are some of the best pets I've ever had," she told People recently. Madison, who recently revealed that she’s expecting her first child, launches a pet product line this week. A portion of the proceeds from LuckyPetProducts.com will go to the Animal Foundation of Las Vegas.

Mayim Bialik

The Big Bang Theory star credits her hairless 9-year-old Peterbald cat, Esau, in part, with helping her through the pain of a serious car accident in August. “This is what makes me forget my pain: My cat Esau sticking his tongue out at me,” she posted on her Kveller blog days after the accident.

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott

Just before the couple welcomed their fourth child, they announced that their animal family was growing as well. The actor and actress brought home a pair of fuzzy ducklings to provide even more company for their two dogs Mitzi and Minnie, pig Hank, chicken Coco, and goat Totes.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton

The heiress adopted a kinkajou in 2005. The exotic animals, which live in the tropical forests of Central and South America, look like small monkeys but are related to raccoons. Not even a bite on the arm that sent Hilton to the hospital in 2006 could come between her and Baby Luv, although her companion hasn't been spotted with star. As of 2010, Baby Luv was living on Hilton's ranch.

Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling

The actor and his dog are inseparable, even appearing for a joint interview with Jimmy Fallon after moving to New York last year. The comedian asked what we’re all wondering: “What’s going on with George’s Mohawk?” Gosling explained that after he gave the dog, who he describes as “some kind of Muppet,” a Mohawk 10 years ago, “he insists on it.” The pooch recently made headlines after going for a walk with actress Eva Mendes, his owner’s reported love interest.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon

Witherspoon owns two adopted miniature donkeys — yes, donkeys — Honky and Tonky. The pair joined her pigs, goats, chickens, dogs and horse on her Ojai, Calif., property. “They're really cute... they're docile and sweet," she said in an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in December 2010. But no everyone’s in love with them. Her neighbors have complained about Honky and Tonky’s hee-hawing, but noted that Witherspoon is loved in the neighborhood.
