Orphaned Baby Wombat Emerges from Pouch

The Warrandyte Wildlife Shelter in Melbourne has released some precious new pictures of Caddy, the 8-month-old baby wombat who has been in their care for about a month.
Caddy is not exactly playing peek-a-boo with her caretakers. She's poking her head of her own special homemade "pouch" that was made for her after her mother was killed in a car accident. Caddy was in her mother's pouch at the time. "She's a dear little thing," Shelter manager Linda Sauvarin told The Daily Mail. "She came to us when she was only 900g, now she's 2.2kg. She still has a long way to go."
Caddy shares her cloth abode with two special companions — a pair of cuddly teddies. She will be released back into the wild when she weighs 25kg, or about 54 pounds.
