Aubrey Plaza and Grumpy Cat

Christmas can’t come soon enough. Word on the street — and by that we mean the Internet — is that Lifetime has tapped Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza to voice Grumpy Cat in the upcoming TV movie Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever.

Despite what Tardar Sauce probably has to say about the selection, we think it’s spot on. We can’t wait to see how Plaza brings her much-loved deadpan style to the character. And though we would have loved hearing Jane Lynch (who was reportedly originally set to take the part) voice the famous cat, The Hollywood Reporter states that Lynch rebuffed the offer after winning an Emmy last month for her show Hollywood Game Night.

Still, two things are certain: We will love the film, and Grumpy Cat will not. According to Lifetime, the movie is about a lonely cat in a mall pet shop who keeps getting passed over — hence her caustic, Grinch-like disposition. Then she meets 12-year-old Chyrstal, the only person who can hear her talk, and their meeting sends Tardar Sauce on some Christmastime adventures. Reluctantly, we’re sure.

Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever airs Nov. 29, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, on Lifetime.
