Rare Baby Tigers Star on Live Cub Cam
Published on September 25, 2013
We have good news and bad news. The good news: you can watch two adorable, cuddly, 1-month-old tiger cubs 24/7 on a cub cam from the Australia Zoo. The bad news: you’re about to waste loads of time when you become glued to the screen.
The Sumatran tiger cubs were born to mom Kaitlyn on Aug. 22. Their species is critically endangered, with only about 500 Sumatran tigers left in the wild.
Kaitlyn, who had a wild mom and a captive dad, is considered one of the world’s most genetically valuable tigers — and the birth of her cubs has been hailed as a big win for the species.
The zoo says the cubs sometimes go home with their handlers. So if you don’t see them in their enclosure in the live video, come back later!
