What do you get when you’re looking for the perfect gift for these big white bears?
Snow! (And lots of it!)
On Saturday, the lucky bears at the San Diego Zoo got the chance to play in a very special delivery of 18 tons of the white stuff — all thanks to the generosity of donors who contributed to it on the zoo’s wish list, which is like an online gift registry for their animals.
The three polar bear residents, Chinook, Kalluk and Tatqiq, pounced and rolled in the fresh snow for hours, much to the delight of visitors.
The zoo’s pandas — including that adorable 6-month-old baby Xiao Liwu — would love to have a snow day of their own too. (Hint, hint.) You can see the zoo’s wish list here.
