Singing Dogs Unite to Fight Pet Cancer

Dogs of all shapes and sizes come together in a new music video that pays homage to the classic 1985 video We Are the World, which raised money to relieve the famine in Africa.
Huskies and Pugs alike take the mic in a recording studio in the Canadian charity Pet Trust’s release, We Could Be Heroes. (In a show of solidarity, even a cat makes an appearance.)
In the spirit of the USA for Africa video, which included the likes of Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Bruce Springsteen, the canine video is voiced by Canadian pop and hip hop stars.
If it’s not cute enough already, you can even add your own personal canine superstar to the mix using a tool on the charity’s web site.
Pet Trust is dedicated to raising awareness about cancer in animals and to raising money for the treatment of animals with cancer at the Ontario Veterinary College Mona Campbell Animal Cancer Centre at the University of Guelph. Purina Canada has pledged to match donations to the charity up to $125,000.
According to Pet Trust, cancer claims the lives of 1 in 4 dogs and 1 in 8 cats.
