Amy Shojai

Amy Shojai has been writing about pets for more than 20 years. She is a certified animal behavior consultant, as well as the award-winning author of 23 pet books on topics ranging from furry babies and old fogies to natural healing and training. Amy has also co-authored two books with Dr. Marty Becker: Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul and Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul.

In addition to writing features for AOL's Paw Nation, she is the cat behavior expert at About.com and also writes their Puppies Guide. Amy hosts a weekly Pet Peeves radio show on the internet, and she has also been featured as an expert on CNN, Animal Planet's "Dogs 101" and "Cats 101" and in hundreds of print venues, including The New York TimesReader’s Digest and Family Circle.

Amy is a founder of the Cat Writers Association; she's also a longtime member of the Dog Writers Association of America and the International Thriller Writers. She lives in Texas on a 13-acre "spread" that she shares with her husband, a German Shepherd named Magic and Seren, a Siamese wannabe.
