Carol Falck
After earning her undergraduate degree in zoology and a Master’s in marine sciences, Dr. Carol Falck was pursuing a PhD in biological oceanography when a moment of inspiration changed her path. While camping in the Florida Everglades, her mother suggested she’d make an excellent veterinarian—and the idea clicked. Veterinary medicine, Dr. Falck realized, would let her combine her love of animals with her passion for science and physiology.
She went on to earn her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania and completed a small-animal internship in Washington, D.C. After moving to South Florida, Dr. Falck founded one of the state’s first holistic pet clinics, the Friendship Animal Wellness Center.
Today, she practices in northern Georgia, where she launched Petwise in 2011 to offer compassionate, integrative care through acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. A 25-year member of the AVMA, she has also chaired a committee for the AHVMA and been nominated for an Animal Game Changer Award. Dr. Falck regularly publishes, lectures, and appears on TV and radio, sharing her expertise in holistic veterinary medicine. When she’s not working, she enjoys clogging, cycling, and hiking with her husband and their lively Australian Shepherd, Beetlejuice.
