Amy Sinatra Ayres

Amy Sinatra Ayres is a Northern Virginia-based freelance writer and editor. She has written Vetstreet’s daily Pet Scoop column, as well as other stories for the site, since 2011.

Amy worked on breaking news for ABCNews.com and AOL News for nearly 15 years, covering hurricanes, plane crashes and elections, before bringing her nose for a good story to animal news. She’s also a contributor to National Geographic’s Great Energy Challenge blog.

She lives with her husband and two young daughters, all of whom share a love for their very spoiled senior chocolate Labrador, Grizzly. Grizzly happily spends his days lying by Amy's feet in her home office.
