Comfort & Fit: 

Pros:

Cons:

  • The wrap can bunch or shift slightly on very active or deep-chested dogs — a common issue among most belly bands.
  • The band’s width was a bit narrow for my dog’s proportions; a wider option would help pet parents fine-tune coverage.
  • Anatomical variations with penis size and location may affect how much coverage any belly band system is able to provide. This is a universal challenge not specific to PAWPANG, though some other systems have adapted by contouring material for extra coverage towards the back legs.

Despite the occasional shifting, I appreciated the flexibility to adjust the liner’s placement for optimal coverage. For my dog, positioning the liner slightly off the back of the band provided better coverage over his penis and added peace of mind in case the wrap shifted forward during play. Small customizations like this helped the band perform even better in real-world use. 

Absorbency & Leak Protection: 

The PAWPANG washable dog belly band kit uses the same disposable liners I previously tested in their female system and they perform just as impressively here. 

In my independent absorption tests using water, the large PAWPANG liner absorbed up to 12 ounces of liquid without leaking, and the surface stayed relatively dry for up to about 6 ounces. For best comfort and skin health, the liner should be changed once the surface can no longer remain dry. 

The duration one liner lasts will vary significantly from dog to dog depending on urine volume (body size dependent), frequency, liner size, and any medical conditions that affect urination. For my 40lb dog, I changed the large liners every four hours on average during the daytime. 

The belly band itself is water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. It’s designed to remain lightweight and breathable, relying entirely on the liner for absorbent power.  This design keeps the wrap soft and flexible while still providing effective leak control. 

Real-world results:

My dog stayed dry during use and light activity. For more active dogs, I recommend checking the fit occasionally and adjusting as needed to maintain optimal positioning.

Washability:

The PAWPANG male dog incontinence wrap washes easily, air-dries well, and maintains its shape after multiple cycles. I appreciated that the velcro can be fully covered during washing, preventing it from collecting lint or damaging other fabrics.  There was no odor retention, which was a noticeable upgrade compared to thicker belly bands.
