So, when given the chance to try FRONTLINE SHIELD for Dogs, I jumped at the opportunity. What follows is my honest review of how this product helped Wally, and whether I’d use it again.

Trying FRONTLINE SHIELD on My Dog
Upon application, Wally barely reacted. He really didn’t seem to notice. There was no redness or irritation once the treatment was applied.
In line with the brand’s direction, we made sure Wally was dry during the application and remained dry for the next 24 hours so that the treatment’s effectiveness wouldn’t be reduced.
Where we live, it’s not a heavily wooded area. Ticks aren’t as much of a concern as other pests like fleas. We live near a creek, so the biggest culprit is mosquitoes. What I really wanted to see was how the product—which differs from others we’ve used in the past to treat fleas and ticks— repelled mosquitoes that we know frequent our yard.
FRONTLINE SHIELD was successful in repelling mosquitoes. At dusk, they’d usually follow him closely, but they seemed to keep their distance a few days after we applied the medication, which was amazing to see in action and so quickly.
After over a week of use, we haven’t noticed any side effects in Wally, although we’ll continue to watch him closely.

Although our household doesn’t have cats, we were pleased to see that FRONTLINE offers a solution specifically designed for felines. Overall, the biggest difference between the PLUS line and the SHIELD line appears to be its ability to repel certain pests more proactively, which in our case proved extremely useful.
Would I use FRONTLINE SHIELD for Dogs Again?
FRONTLINE has been a trusted brand in the pet industry for years. And in our case, it lived up to its trusted reputation. The SHIELD product helped deter pesky mosquitoes from our dog in a yard that mosquitoes like to call home. And for that reason, we’d definitely recommend FRONTLINE SHIELD for Dogs and would be open to using the product again.
