It takes some special dogs to put people at ease during times of tragedy, as well as when they’re dealing with sickness or everyday difficulties. And the folks at the Lutheran Church Charities’ K-9 Parish Comfort Dogs think these adorable Golden Retrievers have what it takes to be the next class of comfort puppies.

The nine fluffy puppies are beginning their training this month in Illinois and will go on to serve in the comfort dog ministry.

The organization's beautiful dogs have made headlines recently by visiting survivors of the school shooting in Newtown, Conn., victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and the Arizona town that lost 19 Hotshot firefighters. They also help children in schools and visit nursing homes.
