When your global fashion icon owner says you're more famous than he is, you definitely had the best week. Karl Lagerfeld, creative director for Chanel, talked to British Vogue about the fame that his Siamese, Choupette, has achieved.
"You know, personally, I don't even think I'm that famous," Lagerfeld told the magazine. "Now, Choupette really is famous. She has become the most famous cat in the world. I even get propositioned by pet food companies and things like that, but it's out of the question. I'm commercial. She's not. She's spoiled to death. Obviously."
Yeah, no kidding. Choupette has her own Twitter handle, an iPad and three maids who tend to her every meow. There's also a new report that Lagerfeld plans to name a Chanel bag after his feline friend.
Cathy Horyn, a fashion critic for The New York Times, set off the speculation on Monday when she visited the Chanel office in Paris. "I just saw the Choupette bag in the studio at Chanel. Knitted, soft. Name of Karl's cat," Horyn tweeted.
The fashion house has yet to confirm or deny the rumors, but hey… a cat can dream, right?
