Construction of an elaborate animal terminal is underway at JFK International Airport in New York. Set to open next year, the Ark at JFK is a $48 million, 178,000-square foot facility that will feature Paws 4 Paradise pet resort with a bone-shaped dog pool; a large animal departure lounge with stalls, food and water; and a veterinary hospital for general and emergency care. "The animal terminal will set new international airport standards for comprehensive veterinary, kenneling and quarantine services," said Ark founder and Racebrook Chairman John J. Cuticelli Jr., in a statement. — Read it and see photos at CNN
